Southwestern Law School — JLE Legal Fiction Contest
Do you have a story to tell about law school or the practice of law? The first legal fiction contest presented by the AALS’ Journal of Legal Education is calling you! Submissions must be original, previously unpublished short works of fiction related to law school or the practice of law, and winning entries will be published in a future issue of the JLE. This is a rare opportunity to have your work read by a panel of best-selling writers of legal fiction, including Michael Connelly. The contest is open to lawyers and non-lawyers, academics and non-academics – anyone setting a fictitious story in a legal setting (law school, law firm, courtroom, legislature, etc.) or focusing on a law-related character (lawyer, law professor, judicial clerk, etc.). Submission deadline is March 15.

In this controversial adaptation of Raymond Chandler’s novel, director Robert Altman updated the plot and setting to the 1970s and cast unlikely actor Elliott Gould as Philip Marlowe. Michael Connelly will interview actor Elliott Gould after the screening.
